No way were we going to let that dreadful virus dampen the Chinese New Year spirit. Which is why in early 2021, we chose to have a little fun by ushering in the new era of Zoom reunions in true cheeky Kinetic fashion.
On the eve of the festival, we released the CNY Zoom Baeground. This virtual background came with a virtual bae that would help fend off any nosy questions about one’s lonely love life. Users simply had to select from the boy or girl next door.
Apart from looking like the perfect husband or wife material, their virtual bae could offer mandarin oranges and look engaged with relatives for hours on end. Best of all, these not-so-real companions could potentially earn users some very real e-angbaos!
