Yes, We Shrunk The Kids. And The Grown-Ups Too.

As 3D printing was taking the world by storm in 2013, we decided to introduce the phenomenon to Singapore by launching a unique pop-up studio. Using the latest in 3D scanning and printing technology from Japan, we gave consumers the rare opportunity to create a small version of themselves that’s true to their likeness.

Logo

Inspired by the miniaturisation process, we came up with the name and logo “Uu”. The upper case “U” represents the consumer (the ‘big you’) while the lower case “u” represents the figurine (the ‘small you’).

Studio

The space also served as a gallery that was more than a simple showcase of the 3D figurines. Placed beside ‘small you’ was a personal object representing ‘big you’, together with an explanation of what the items meant to the various notable personalities featured.

Online, we also shared photos of the mini figurines shot against landscapes in the real big world. By the end of the pop-up, the Uu Facebook page had a total reach of more than 5.9 million, with impressions totalling more than 19 million – all that in just two weeks!

(Just in case you were still wondering, we’re really an independent design and advertising agency based in Singapore. Not a bakery.)
